Flights from Sydney

Arguably Australia's most popular city, Sydney is full of iconic landmarks and captivating attractions. It hosts one of the oldest airports in the world still in operation - Sydney Airport. Operated by SACL, this airport offers international and domestic flights including flights from Sydney to Adelaide.

Sydney Airport features three runways often referred to as the east-west, north-south and third runway. Three terminals (the international and domestic terminals plus another domestic terminal) are managed independently by Qantas. Sydney Airport holds the title as the busiest airport in Australia and averaged more than 100,000 passengers a day in 2014.

Directions to Sydney airport

Sydney Airport is situated in the suburb of Mascot, roughly 8 km south of the city centre. The Airport Link provides fast rail services from Circular Quay, Central, Wynyard, Townhall, St. James and Museum station. These will take you directly to the domestic and international terminals at Sydney Airport.

For local transport, Sydney buses on route 400 run from Burwood to Bondi Junction railway station and stop at terminal T1 and T3. Pre-booking a shuttle bus is also a great option to get from your location to the airport. If you're staying at a hotel, check if they offer a complimentary pick-up and drop-off service.

Reaching Adelaide

Sitting on the eastern shores of Gulf St. Vincent is Adelaide, where you'll discover a myriad of things to do and places to go! The coastline itself contains some of the best beaches in the country; then there's the bustling food and wine scene to satisfy your cravings. Catch exciting sporting events at the Adelaide Oval or soak up art and culture in North Terrace.

For day trips, places you shouldn't miss are the remarkable Flinders Ranges; local beaches and conservation parks in the Fleurieu Peninsula; plus the impressive wineries in the Barossa and Clare Valleys.

Getting to the city center

On Sydney flights to Adelaide you will arrive at Adelaide Airport. You can use the express double decker bus service called JetExpress for a fast trip to key attractions and accommodations in the city. No need to purchase tickets in advance, as you can get them from the bus drivers. You can also head over to the Information and Tourism Bookings booth in the terminal (ground floor) and select a door-to-door Airport City Shuttle.

From the terminal, you'll find the designated taxi rank at the left of the pedestrian plaza. These are especially useful if you need transport with a baby capsule or wheelchair access. Maxi taxis and five-seaters are also available for larger groups.
