Flights from Sydney

Australia's harbour city Sydney is widely known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Understandably, the city also hosts one of the busiest airports in the country–Sydney Airport. In 2014 it reportedly averaged 100,000 passengers per day.

Passengers can embark on flights from Sydney to Melbourne or from Sydney to other parts of Australia plus many major destinations around the world. The airport's three terminals are T1 (international and some domestic flights), T2 (domestic and regional flights) and T3 (flights by Qantas).

Directions to Sydney airport

Sydney Airport is located 8 km from Sydney's central business district. Getting to the airport is easy thanks to a variety of available transport options. The 400 local bus route can drop passengers off at the T1 and T3 terminals. Airport Link also offers direct services from the city to airport stations located in the international and domestic terminals. These are available from various points in the city including Central, Circular Quay and Town Hall Station. For those having a little trouble navigating Sydney's transport system, have no fear. Taxis are available from taxi ranks or you can book them over the phone in advance.

Reaching Melbourne

Friendly and charming, Melbourne is a wonderful destination for newcomers and seasoned travellers alike. Australia's second largest city features both modern and Victorian-era architecture, earning it the title as the country's most European city. The food is fantastic, as evidenced by the plethora of dining options–from world-class restaurants to innovative cafes. Not to be forgotten is Melbourne's thriving arts and cultural scene, with multiple museums and art galleries waiting to be explored and various festivals celebrated all year-round.

Melbourne is also known for its passion and is regarded as Australia's most sports-loving state. In fact it's home to the premier sports precinct in Australia where major sporting events are often held.

Getting to the city center

Melbourne Airport receives many flights from Sydney. It is situated 23 km from the city centre, so plan ahead with regards to how you'll get to the there. Three local bus routes operate between the airport and the Airport West Shopping Centre. These are routes 478 (via Melrose Drive), 479 (via Sunbury Station) and 482 (via South Centre Road.) The bus stops are placed at the terminal T4 car park transport hub. SkyBus also provides fast and convenient express bus services to Melbourne City, St Kilda and Frankston. Taxi or Uber are other transport alternatives.

Would never use E Dreams site again paid far too much for our air tickets for very little return from Jetstar. Would fly Qantas in the future. Went with edreams in order to fly with Virgin Australia as I find them a better airline.
