Going to and from the airports

Flights from Adelaide

Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and home of the city's principal airport, the Adelaide Airport. Since being upgraded in 2005 its dual international/domestic terminal has received numerous awards including being recognised as Australia's best capital city airport in 2006, 2009, and 2011. In 2006 it was also named the second-best international airport in the world. Adelaide Airport operates flights from Adelaide to Perth, as well as to various parts of the USA, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Directions to Adelaide airport

Adelaide Airport sits on the eastern shores of Gulf St. Vincent, adjacent to West Beach and roughly 6 km west of the central business district. Grabbing a taxi is the most convenient way to travel between the airport and the city, but if you'd rather use public transport the Adelaide Metro runs an express double decker bus service called JetExpress. There's no need to reserve tickets as these can be easily purchased from the bus drivers themselves. As for shuttle service, the two options are the Northern Flyer and Adelaide Airport Flyer. These two companies operate door-to-door service to and from the airport. Reservations are mandatory.

Reaching Perth

Australia's sunniest capital city Perth offers big-city attractions in the form of skyscrapers, live music venues and stylish nightclubs, as well as museums and art galleries. The Scitech Discovery Centre provides hours of interesting and educational entertainment, while the theme park Adventure World will get your heart pumping with excitement. The heart of Perth however can be found in its pristine beaches, with the most popular being Cottesloe, Port Beach and Rockingham Beach.

When in Perth, don't miss out on meeting the happiest marsupial in the world, the quokka, on Rottnest Island. Other places where you can get close with Australia's unique wildlife are Perth Zoo and the Aquarium of Western Australia.

Getting to the city center

If you're travelling from Adelaide you'll be arriving at Perth Airport. Connect Shuttle Bus offers pick up and drop off service from the airport to five locations in the city, including East Perth train station, Western Australia Museum, Wellington Street, The Kings Perth Hotel and the Ambassador Hotel. Pre-booking is possible but not mandatory. Regular bus services are also provided by Transperth. If you're coming from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 you can take Bus Route 380 to the city centre. If you're coming from Terminal 3 or Terminal 4, hop onto Bus Route 40 to take the most direct route between the airport and the city.
