Flights from Adelaide to Kingscote

South Australia's capital Adelaide is a major city affectionately referred to as a 'big country town'. Near the seaside suburb West Beach is Adelaide Airport, from which flights to and from the city arrive and depart. It is Australia's fifth busiest airport, serving over 8 million passengers in 2016.

Adelaide Airport is the principal airport in South Australia, with direct flights from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island. It also handles regular domestic and international flights. Prior to your flight you can experience virtual walkthroughs of the terminal to get a better idea of the available facilities and where they are.

Adelaide Airport sits adjacent to West Beach, roughly 6 km away from the city centre. Due to the city's extensive public transport system, getting to your destination should be easy! Catch a ride on JetExpress, a fast double decker bus that runs between the airport and the CBD, or JetBus, which operates to Glenelg and West Beach. You'll find bus stops on the left hand side of the plaza when you exit the Terminal, where the taxi rank is also located. Door-to-door routes are also provided by the Airport City Shuttle and will take you directly to your hotel plus other key destinations.

When you travel to Kangaroo Island you'll find an extensive range of local seafood and fresh produce to feast on. Choosing a favourite will be difficult, but Sunset Food & Wine, Ultima Thule Café, Frogs 'N' Roses and Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafoods and Takeaway are widely considered to be some of the best.

Besides the food there's many outdoor activities and extreme adventures to partake in on Kangaroo Island. Breath-taking views of nature are pretty much everywhere and will make you glad you came. Seal Bay in particular is popular for its striking coastal scenery and the viewing platforms from where you can observe a colony of endangered Australian sea lions in their natural habitat!

Direct flights to Kangaroo Island arrive in Kingscote Airport (the sole airport on the island) situated 12 km southwest of the island's main town. This airport is regularly served by Regional Express Airlines (REX), which operate between Kangaroo Island and Adelaide. Charter flights also operate from this airport.

The terminal is open daily but only until after the last scheduled flight for the day. Your main option from here is to rent a car from either of the two car hire companies at the airport–Hertz and Budget Rent-A-Car. You may also choose to take Kangaroo Island Transfers instead.
