Perth is a beautiful sunny city known for its stunning beaches and boutique wineries. It is considered to be one of the most remote capitals in the world, with the nearest neighbouring capital Adelaide approximately 2,131 km away! This is why most people who go in and out of the city have to go through Western Australia's primary airport–Perth Airport.
Perth Airport operates international flights to destinations such as Singapore, Dubai, Auckland and Hong Kong. The airport also offers domestic flights to other Australian destinations including cheap direct flights from Perth to Melbourne.
Perth Airport is situated in a suburb of the same name, falling within the boundaries of a local government area called the City of Swan. One way to get to the airport is through Connect shuttles, which offer pick-up services from five locations throughout the city. These shuttles only run to T3 domestic. From there you can walk to T4 or get a free ride on the terminal transfer bus to the T1/T2 precinct. Transperth has buses that provide transportation to and from the airport. From the Elizabeth Quay Bus Station at the city centre take Bus Route 380 to get to T1/T2, or Bus Route 40 to get to T3/T4.
Melbourne is one of the best places in the world to live in and is great for vacations! As Victoria's state capital, it hosts attractions such as the National Gallery of Victoria (Australia's oldest public art gallery) and the Queen Victoria Market. Sports is extremely popular in Melbourne, with stadiums such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground hosting competitions for cricket, football, basketball, soccer and other sports.
Love coffee? Who doesn't! Caffeine aficionados will definitely enjoy innumerable coffee spots to choose from each one serving arguably the 'best coffee' until you try the others. Popular cafes include Degraves Espresso Bar in Degraves Street, Heartattack and Vine in Lygon Street and Wide Open Road in Barkly Street.
The busiest airport serving the city is Melbourne Airport where flights from Perth arrive. The city centre is about 23 km away. To get there, find the airport's transport hub at the Terminal 4 car park. SmartBus Routes 478, 479, 482, and 901 will get you to various parts of the city. Other transport options include car rentals and taxis from the taxi ranks, situated outside Terminal 1 and between Terminals 2 and 3.
Flights by Jetstar Airways from Perth may also land in Avalon Airport, located 50 km southwest of Melbourne. Skybus runs airport transfers from the airport to the Melbourne central business district and the suburb of Werribee.
