Barcelona Airport, also known as Barcelona-El Prat, is the only international airport close to the city. It has two terminals. Terminal 1 is the fifth largest in the world and is built to accommodate large airplanes like the Airbus A380-800 and the Boeing 747-8I, while Terminal 2 is divided into three sections, being 2A, 2B, and 2C.
Take a look at the top carriers to this airport before booking your air tickets to Barcelona: Vueling, Ryanair and Air Europa.
The airport is located approximately 14 km away from the city centre.
Transportation options are plenty. You could either use the Metro or the Aerobus to reach the city centre. The Metro connects both terminals with Barcelona's underground network. The Aerobus gets you from the airport to the city centre in hardly any time. You could also hop on to a Rapid/ALSA bus if you want to travel to other towns in Spain like Murcia or Almeria.
