It handles more than a million passengers annually and its international terminal lays 50 km north of the domestic terminal, with transport between the two readily available.

Samui International Airport is located about 2 km from the city centre. From here, Koh Samui to Phuket flights can be taken. Transport to and from the airport is easy enough, with private car/taxis able to pick you up and take you to the airport from anywhere on the island. Apart from a car, there's a minivan for up to 6 passengers that can also be booked.

Cars however can be rented from the car rental counters at the airport. There is a Koh Samui Airport Shuttle Service that takes no time at all to pick you up from specific points around the airport.

Located about 32 km from Phuket city centre, the airport has been ranked as the third busiest airport in the country.
