Santorini is one lucky island in the Aegean Sea to have its own international airport. The Santorini Thira International Airport serves both passenger and military carriers. This airport sees more than a million passengers every year, most of who come to explore the island's culture, nightlife and magnificent scenery.
Looking forward to visiting this volcanic island? These are the top carriers to this airport: Aegean Airlines, Ryanair and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
This airport is located approximately 6 km away from Thira.
There are both buses and local taxis that serve passengers at the airport. Those who'd like to rent a vehicle can do so at the airport itself. Several hotels offer free pick-up and drop offs from the airport. Passengers could also take a ferry from the port to neighbouring islands. There isn't a bus service from the airport to the port however. Passengers have to either hire a taxi or book a private transfer service to the port. To buy a ferry ticket, tourists have to approach the ticket counter at the port itself.
