Flights from Milan to Barcelona

Luxurious Milan is highly regarded for its fashion and design industry, as well as being a financial hub. Several airports serve the city, with all international flights operating from Malpensa Airport. This airport encompasses two parallel runways plus two passenger terminals that also hold a 7,250 m2 shopping area that carries more than 38 international brands.

Other flights from Milan to Barcelona operate from Linate Airport and Orio al Serio International Airport. Linate has one terminal from which domestic and some international flights arrive and depart. Orio al Serio International also operates a number of international airline carriers.

Malpensa Airport serves Northern Italy and is located 49 km northwest of central Milan. Access to this airport is made easy by bus or train. The Malpensa Express train can take you from the railway stations at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Centrale and Cadorna to the terminals. Coaches are available from Milan Central Station, Linate, Turin, Novara, Domodossola, Genova, Valle D'Aosta, Lombardy and Canton Ticino to terminals 1 and 2.

Linate Airport is just 7 km away from downtown, with connections by bus via Urban line 73. Coaches to this airport are also available from the central station. As for Orio al Serio International Airport, you can take a bus from Bergamo Train Station.

The seaside city of Barcelona boasts a plethora of architectural masterpieces, earning its first RIBA Gold Medal in 1999. International flights operate from Barcelona-El Prat Airport, 12 km southwest of the city centre. The metro line L9 Sud runs from both terminals to the south entrance at Fira Gran Via. Aerobus also provides fast service to the city centre, as does the R2 train line.

An alternative airport for travellers bound for Barcelona is Girona-Costa Brava Airport. This airport is about 12.5 km southwest of Girona city and 92 km north of Barcelona. You will first need to get to Girona via bus or taxi before you can take the train to the city.
