Getting to the city center
Just outside the city's eco-tourism developments is Cairns Airport–located 7 km away from the central business district. Car rental booths are set up at the arrival halls of terminal 1, but the hire cars themselves are parked at the northern end of terminal 2. You can also be driven around the city's taxi district of Ellis Beach and Wright Creek or Edmonton via Cairns Taxi.
